Honda Teaches Road Smarts

Honda Foundation, Inc. (HFI) has conducted road safety seminars in 11 public schools in Santa Rosa City, Laguna, reaching more than 380 participants, including students aged 16 and older and some faculty members.
The initiative, called the Students on Safety (SOS) Program, was organized in partnership with the Department of Education-Schools Division Office of Santa Rosa City, participating schools and the local government.

Certified instructors from the Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC) led interactive sessions that taught students responsible road behavior and safe mobility practices.
The program combined classroom discussions with practical training and activities designed to help young people understand road hazards and develop safer habits as pedestrians, passengers and future drivers.

Honda said the initiative seeks to encourage responsible road use among students while helping establish road safety awareness at an early age.
The SOS Program supports Honda’s wider efforts to reduce road crash fatalities involving its motorcycles and automobiles. It also contributes to the company’s global goal of achieving zero traffic collision fatalities by 2050.

HFI serves as the corporate social responsibility arm of the Honda Group of Companies in the Philippines. Its members include Honda Philippines, Inc., Honda Cars Philippines, Inc., Honda Trading Philippines Ecozone Corporation and Honda Logistics Philippine, Inc.
Through the school-based program, Honda hopes students will apply what they have learned during their daily journeys and help promote safer roads in their communities.
