CAMPI Sales Recover in September

Published

Vehicle sales among members of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) rose 20.6 percent to 35,722 units in September, following a slowdown caused by weather-related disruptions in August.

The two groups reported that total industry sales exceeded 40,240 units when estimates from nonmember brands were included. This represented a 17 percent increase from August and made September the third-highest monthly sales period of 2026.

CAMPI president Jose Maria Atienza said the September results indicated a return to the industry’s projected recovery path after adverse weather affected market activity the previous month.

Sales improved across both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electrified vehicle categories, reflecting stronger demand as the industry entered the final quarter.

“Based on annual sales trends heading into the final months of the year, we believe the industry is well-positioned to sustain its momentum and deliver a strong overall performance in 2026,” Atienza said.

Toyota Motor Philippines retained its lead among CAMPI-TMA member brands with 18,157 vehicles sold in September.

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines followed with 3,962 units, while Suzuki Philippines recorded 1,466 units. Ford Group Philippines sold 1,187 vehicles, followed by Honda Cars Philippines with 1,136 units.

CAMPI expects the recovery to continue through the remaining months of the year as the industry works toward a stronger 2026 finish.
