GAC GS4 Max HEV blends family space with no-plug hybrid driving
Choosing a family SUV often comes down to how well it handles everyday routines rather than what appears on the specification sheet.
The GAC GS4 Max HEV approaches that job with a spacious cabin, self-charging hybrid power, driver-assistance technology and ownership support designed for Filipino households.
Here are five areas that define how the hybrid SUV fits into family use.
Space that adapts to family needs
The GS4 Max HEV has a 2,750 mm wheelbase and a body width of 1,901 mm, giving passengers generous legroom and shoulder room across both rows.
The cabin includes supportive seats, rear air-conditioning vents, several storage areas and a panoramic roof with an electric sunshade.
Cargo capacity is 638 liters with the second row in place. Folding the 40/60 split rear backrests expands available space to 1,586 liters.
GAC says the larger cargo area can accommodate about five golf bags or as many as 10 large pieces of luggage, depending on how they are arranged.
That flexibility allows the SUV to switch between school and work commutes, grocery runs, family trips and occasions that require more cargo space.
No charger required
The GS4 Max HEV uses a self-charging hybrid system, so owners do not need to install a home charger or rely on public charging stations.
Drivers refuel at conventional gasoline stations, while the vehicle automatically switches among electric power, hybrid operation, engine drive and energy recuperation.
No manual selection of operating modes is required.
GAC says the system can cover up to 1,250 kilometers on a full tank under approved test parameters, reducing the need for frequent fuel stops on longer trips.
Hybrid power for city and highway driving
The powertrain combines a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine with an electric motor.
Combined output is rated at 232 horsepower, while maximum motor torque reaches 300 N-m.
Electric motor response helps the GS4 Max HEV deal with stop-and-go city traffic, while the combined system provides added power for highway merging and overtaking.
GAC also designed the cabin and suspension to provide a quiet, composed ride for passengers during longer drives.
Driver aids for traffic and parking
The GS4 Max HEV comes with driver-assistance systems intended to help in traffic, on expressways and when maneuvering in confined spaces.
Adaptive Cruise Control and Traffic Jam Assist help manage vehicle speed and spacing in heavy traffic.
Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking provide additional collision support, while lane assistance systems help the driver maintain position during highway travel.
A surround-view camera provides added visibility when parking or navigating tight areas.
The cabin also includes smartphone integration and wireless device charging.
GAC notes that these systems are designed to assist the driver and do not replace attentive driving.
Aftersales support for long-term ownership
GAC backs the GS4 Max HEV through a nationwide network of 30 dealerships and a local spare-parts warehouse.
Owners also receive two years of free roadside assistance.
The vehicle carries a five-year or 150,000-kilometer basic warranty. The power battery, driving motor and motor control unit are covered for eight years or 150,000 kilometers.
GAC says its local parts warehouse is intended to improve parts availability and reduce service turnaround times.
Introductory price through December
The GAC GS4 Max HEV has a regular suggested retail price of P1.298 million.
An introductory price of P1.218 million is available for reservations made until Dec. 31, 2026, giving buyers P80,000 in savings.
