Maxim Strengthens Driver Safety With New Emergency Contact Feature

Maxim Rides & Food Delivery has introduced an emergency contact feature that allows driver-partners to alert trusted individuals and share their location when they need assistance.
The new function lets drivers register designated contacts through the app. When a driver-partner activates an SOS alert, the designated person receives a notification with a link showing the driver’s location.
The feature allows family members or other trusted individuals to locate the driver and coordinate assistance during an emergency while fulfilling orders.
It complements Maxim’s existing safety system, which allows driver-partners to contact emergency services or send SOS alerts to nearby drivers.
The platform also maintains an emergency driver support group that monitors distress signals and responds to reported incidents.
Maxim uses artificial intelligence to classify incoming customer support requests and identify security-related concerns that require priority attention.
“With the addition of emergency contacts, driver-partners have another way to quickly notify someone they trust and share their location when they need assistance,” said Maxim Rides & Food Delivery president Andres Morales Jr.
The company began Philippine operations in Cebu in 2020 and has since expanded its services to 22 other cities nationwide.
Maxim said the latest addition strengthens its existing emergency assistance system for driver-partners who provide transportation and delivery services.
