Caltex puts Techcron to work

Motorists often pay close attention to oil changes, tire pressure and scheduled maintenance. However, Caltex says the fuel placed in the tank also plays a role in keeping an engine clean over time.

Caltex uses Techron across its local fuel range. Its formulation includes what the company calls Clean & Glide Technology, which is designed to prevent deposit buildup and reduce friction between metal surfaces inside the engine.

According to Caltex, these functions can help keep engine components clean and support consistent performance over an extended period.

The company’s Techron-powered lineup includes Caltex Platinum with Techron and Caltex Silver with Techron for gasoline-powered vehicles. Its diesel offerings include Caltex Diesel with Techron D and Caltex Power Diesel with Techron D.

Caltex said the technology is backed by decades of research and development under parent company Chevron.

While pump prices often influence where motorists refuel, Caltex recommends looking at more than the posted cost per liter. The required octane rating, fuel formulation and cleaning additives can also be considered when comparing available products.

Choosing the correct fuel still begins with the specifications listed in the vehicle’s manual. From there, motorists can assess the technologies offered by different brands and decide which formulation suits their engine-care priorities.
