Green GSM Enters Northern Mindanao

Green GSM has officially launched its all-electric taxi service in Northern Mindanao following a trial operation that began in late August.
The company introduced the service on September 29 in El Salvador, Misamis Oriental, with its VinFast electric taxi fleet now available in Cagayan de Oro, Laguindingan, Alubijid and Opol.
Green GSM describes the operation as the first fully electric taxi service in Northern Mindanao, expanding its Philippine network to serve more passengers outside major urban centers.
Customers can book rides through the Green GSM mobile app, contact its customer service hotline or hail available taxis along the road.
The service covers daily commutes, travel between neighboring communities and airport transfers, including trips to and from Laguindingan Airport.
Green GSM operates an entirely electric fleet of VinFast vehicles, which produce no tailpipe emissions and generate less operating noise than conventional gasoline-powered taxis.
The company said its drivers undergo training in road safety, driving skills and professional conduct to maintain consistent service standards.
Passengers can view fares through the mobile app, while taxis accepting street bookings use official in-car meters. Green GSM said the arrangement provides transparent pricing for customers, particularly those taking longer trips.
To encourage new customers, the company is giving first-time registrants 15 Green Points, equivalent to P15, which can be used for discounts on subsequent rides.
The Northern Mindanao launch follows what Green GSM described as positive results from its trial operation in late August.
The expansion adds to its existing Philippine operations, which include Metro Manila, Central Visayas and other parts of Mindanao.
“Expanding into Northern Mindanao enables Green GSM to increase our service coverage in a region with strong potential, while giving more residents access to electric mobility with consistent service quality and reasonable costs,” said Pham Nhat Minh Hoang, global chief executive officer of Green SM.
He said the company would continue developing its network and working with local partners to establish an electric transportation model that could support long-term operations in the Philippines.
Green GSM also expects the expansion to generate additional employment opportunities for drivers while providing residents with another transport option for local and intercity journeys.
The company maintains its five service commitments, known as the “5 Green Promises,” which cover vehicle quality, driver standards, pricing, passenger experience and environmental responsibility.
