MINI Meets Paul Smith

Published

on

MINI has launched the Paul Smith Edition in Singapore, bringing the British fashion designer’s signature colours and details to the electric MINI Cooper SE.

The special edition follows the MINI STRIP concept in 2021 and the electric MINI Recharged by Paul Smith in 2022. More models carrying the Paul Smith treatment will reach Singapore in the coming months.

Buyers can choose between two exclusive body colours. Statement Grey draws from the original 1959 Mini Austin Seven, while Inspired White is based on the beige finish offered on the classic Mini.

Nottingham Green, named after Paul Smith’s hometown, appears on the roof, side mirrors and octagonal front grille. The colour also covers the wheel hubs, which carry Paul Smith lettering.

A section of the designer’s multicoloured Signature Stripe appears near the rear of the roof on the driver’s side. His signature is placed on the black trim across the tailgate.

The car rides on 18-inch Night Spoke alloy wheels finished in Dark Steel Flash. Its MINI badges use a new Black Blue colour.

The dashboard and door panels feature black knitted surfaces. Tone-on-tone striped fabric influenced the dashboard pattern, while the Nightshade Blue sports seats combine Vescin upholstery with knitted textile sections.

Bright stitching inspired by the Signature Stripe appears on the steering wheel’s textile band. Drivers can also select one of three Paul Smith backgrounds for the car’s circular central display.

A handwritten “Hello” is projected onto the ground when the doors open. The door sill carries Smith’s line, “Every day is a new beginning,” while the floor mats include a hand-drawn rabbit graphic.

“What I love most about the MINI Paul Smith Edition is how it makes a statement without shouting,” MINI Asia head Daren Ching said.

The Cooper SE Paul Smith Edition uses a 49.2-kWh battery and an electric motor producing 218 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from zero to 100 kph in 6.7 seconds and travel up to 402 kilometers under the WLTP test cycle.

MINI priced the car at S$282,888 in Singapore.

The company also introduced the MINI Surfside Collection, which is limited to five units. Based on the electric Aceman E, it comes in Ocean Wave Green with a white roof, custom graphics and Surfside badges. A light beige cabin completes the treatment.

The Aceman E produces 148 horsepower and 290 Nm. Its 38.5-kWh battery provides a WLTP range of up to 310 kilometers.

MINI priced the Surfside Collection at S$270,888. The Singapore release did not announce Philippine availability for either special edition.
