Brooklands Marks Racing Century


Thousands of motorsport fans and vintage car enthusiasts gathered at the Brooklands Museum in Surrey to mark 100 years since the first British Grand Prix.
The race took place at the historic circuit on 7 August 1926.
Among the vehicles at the centenary event was a vintage Bugatti owned by Julian Eckersley.
“The car is alive. It’s fantastic to drive, light and nimble, with plenty of power, and it sounds glorious,” Eckersley said. “It’s the closest thing I’ve got to a genuine work of art in metal.”
