XPENG launches six X9, L03 variants in the Philippines

XPENG has formally entered the Philippine market with six variants across its X9 electric MPV and L03 SUV coupé, with prices starting at P1.548 million.

The Chinese electric vehicle maker staged its Philippine launch at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Sept. 25, where it also introduced actress and television host Anne Curtis as its official local brand ambassador.

The event drew about 3,000 guests and expanded XPENG’s initial local offering with additional versions of the X9 and L03. The lineup covers battery-electric vehicles and a range-extended electric vehicle, or REEV.

XPENG also displayed its X2 Flying Car and IRON Humanoid Robot during the launch as part of a presentation on the company’s work in physical artificial intelligence.

“Tonight, Filipino customers saw the full range of choices behind our Philippine debut, from the space and comfort of the XPENG X9 to the different electric driving options offered by the XPENG L03,” XPENG Philippines Country Director Katoon Su said.

Su said the company is pairing the vehicles with ownership support and an expanding dealer network.

The flagship X9 seven-seat MPV is offered in two Long Range versions. The standard X9 Long Range costs P3.858 million, while the variant fitted with the Second Row Premium Seat Package is priced at P4.058 million.

The Premium Seat Package adds four-way powered headrest adjustment and 16-point massage functions for the second row. The regular Long Range version uses Zero-Gravity second-row seats separated by a central aisle for easier access to the rear.

Both use active rear-wheel steering that gives the large MPV a 5.4-meter turning radius. They also have dual-chamber air suspension and a powered third row that folds beneath the cargo floor.

Power comes from a front-mounted electric motor rated at 235 kW and 450 Nm. A 110 kWh battery provides a claimed WLTP driving distance of up to 615 kilometers.

XPENG said the X9 can replenish its battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 12 minutes when connected to a compatible DC fast charger under optimal conditions.

The smaller L03 arrives with four choices, including three battery-electric variants and one REEV.

Prices start at P1.548 million for the L03 EV Standard Range. The L03 REEV costs P1.598 million, followed by the EV Long Range at P1.698 million and the RWD Long Range Ultra at P2.058 million.

The Long Range Ultra uses a 71.1 kWh battery and has a claimed WLTP distance of up to 480 km. It also gets front-seat massage functions, an upgraded audio system and additional intelligent driving hardware.

The EV Long Range uses the same battery but is rated for up to 520 km, while the Standard Range has a 58.3 kWh battery and a claimed distance of up to 445 km.

XPENG’s L03 REEV takes a different approach. Its 37.2 kWh battery provides up to 215 km of electric-only travel before an onboard combustion engine generates electricity to extend the trip.

The engine does not drive the wheels directly. XPENG puts the combined WLTP distance at as much as 1,017 km.

All four L03 variants use rear-wheel electric drive and can charge from 10 to 80 percent in about 20 minutes with compatible DC fast charging under optimal conditions.

The five-seat L03 also has a 539-liter luggage compartment, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and XPENG’s suite of driver-assistance and safety systems.

Ownership packages differ between the two models.

X9 buyers receive five years of free preventive maintenance and roadside assistance, a five-year bumper-to-bumper warranty, an eight-year battery and electric-motor warranty and a 7 kW wall charger.

L03 buyers receive two years of free preventive maintenance, five years of roadside assistance, a five-year bumper-to-bumper warranty and an eight-year warranty covering the battery and electric motor.

Battery-electric L03 variants come with a 7 kW wall charger, while the REEV receives a 3.5 kW portable charger.

Reservations require P25,000 for the X9 and P10,000 for the L03. XPENG expects customer deliveries to start in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to model, variant, color and dealer allocation.

Reservations are also being accepted through XPENG Greenhills, Makati, North EDSA and Cebu. The company said more dealerships will be announced as its Philippine sales and service network grows.

XPENG Philippines is a direct subsidiary of XPENG and is the company’s first subsidiary in Southeast Asia.
