GWM Philippines is holding firm on pricing even as excise taxes begin to affect the pickup segment. In a move that benefits budget-conscious buyers, the Chinese automaker confirmed it will not increase prices for the newly refreshed GWM Cannon, at least for now.

GWM is offering the new Cannon with an all-in low down payment of just P58,000 until August 31, 2025. This applies to both available variants: the Cannon LUX+ 4×4 AT (P1,488,000) and the higher-spec Cannon SLUX+ 4×4 AT (P1,688,000).

Both variants are powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged diesel engine, delivering 184 PS and 480 Nm of torque. This is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system with torque-on-demand capability. Compared to the previous 2.0L model, the new engine offers more punch, especially on climbs and rough roads.

Inside, both trucks are equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 50W wireless charger, and a full suite of driver aids. The SLUX+ comes with ventilated leather seats, a 540-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control, and an extensive ADAS suite including lane-keeping assist, blind spot warning, and traffic sign recognition.

While the SLUX+ adds upscale features and more safety tech, even the LUX+ comes with off-road-ready all-terrain tires, a cargo bed roll cover, and advanced essentials like electronic stability control, rear sensors, and a 2-airbag setup.

The Cannon’s updated design leans toward a sportier, more rugged aesthetic with matte black trim, body-colored cladding, and blacked-out accents—giving it a tough but tasteful look. Meanwhile, both variants come with spray-on bed liners and hydraulic-assisted tailgates for added utility.

According to GWM Philippines Brand Head Dax Avenido, the brand is committed to keeping prices stable even after the implementation of the excise tax. “This is our way of ensuring that Filipino drivers still have access to premium pickup trucks at competitive pricing,” he said.

Buyers can also rest easy with GWM’s generous 7-year or 200,000-kilometer warranty, which remains in effect across both models.

Captiva Your Moment

Two Chevrolet Captiva SUVs, one in black and one in white, displayed on a scenic mountain road at sunset with the text "Captivate Your Drive" and the BPI partner logo.

Chevrolet Philippines teams up with BPI Auto Loan to roll out an exclusive Captiva deal that’s built for growing families. From August 22 to October 31, 2025, buyers can pick either up to ₱140,000 in savings or a low all-in down payment of ₱46,000 at 20 percent DP, available nationwide through authorized dealers.

The offer centers on the 7-seat Captiva, positioned as a daily partner that can shift from school runs to weekend drives. Inside, the panoramic sunroof brightens the cabin and a 10.4-inch vertical touchscreen supports Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto to keep everyone connected on the move. For cargo days, the flexible layout opens up to 1,709 liters, enough for gear, groceries, or luggage.

Safety features include six airbags, MacPherson front suspension, 18-inch alloys, and an elevated ride height for rough city streets and provincial roads. Chevrolet says the Captiva has been endurance-tested to simulate five years of use in just 85 days, underscoring durability for family use.

The pitch is simple. If you want the biggest slash on the sticker price, take the cash discount. If you prefer to conserve upfront cash, the low all-in DP option helps you get the keys sooner. Either way, Chevrolet and BPI Auto Loan aim to make the Captiva easier to bring home while offering space, comfort, and peace of mind.
