PCXceptional Ride Rolls On
Honda Philippines gathered media and moto vloggers on August 29, 2025 for the PCXceptional Ride, a real-world loop from the Honda Safety Driving Center in Parañaque to Café Cecilia in Tanay. The route mixed city traffic, climbs, and countryside roads to highlight where the all-new PCX160 works best out on the open road.

Riders sampled both Standard and RoadSync variants. On the twisty stretches, the 157 cc liquid-cooled ESP+ engine delivered smooth pull with rated outputs of 11.8 kW at 8,500 rpm and 14.7 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Fuel economy of 46 km/L kept stops few, while the spacious foot area helped comfort over a long morning ride.

Control features stood out in changing weather. The RoadSync type’s ABS boosted stability under hard braking, and Honda Selectable Torque Control helped manage traction during quick bursts. Its twin rear shocks with subtanks provided calm damping over rough patches. The Standard type countered with a dependable Combi Brake System on front and rear discs.

Styling details drew attention in traffic. New all-LED lighting sharpened the look, and colorways earned nods from passing riders. The RoadSync type comes in Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic and Pearl Fadeless White. The Standard offers Vortex Red Metallic, Pearl Fadeless White, and Matte Bullet Silver.

Day-to-day usability was a major talking point. The Honda Smart Key with immobilizer simplified start-ups and added peace of mind at stopovers. A USB Type-C port kept phones charged, and a 30-liter luggage box swallowed jackets and small bags without fuss.

The RoadSync type layered in connected tech. With a paired smartphone, riders used turn-by-turn navigation, music, calls, and messages through the multi-function left switch and voice HMI. A 5-inch TFT display improved visibility in bright sun and at dusk. The passing light switch helped with safe overtakes.
The ride ended at Café Cecilia with snacks and rider debriefs. Honda Philippines said the event underlined its goal to deliver stylish, practical, and tech-forward scooters for Filipino riders. The PCX160 Standard is priced at Php 133,400, while the RoadSync type lists at Php 154,900, available nationwide.
“We are fully committed to bringing the joy of mobility and beyond to every Filipino, and continuing to elevate your riding experience with the all-new PCX160 where elegance meets truly exceptional performance,” said Apple Magaling, Motorcycle Planning Department Manager at Honda Philippines.

VinFast opens Philippine bookings for swappable e-motorcycles
VinFast has opened early bookings in the Philippines for three battery-swapping electric motorcycle models as it widens its two-wheel electric lineup in Southeast Asia.
The program covers the VinFast Evo, Feliz II and Viper, with reservations accepted from June 10 to July 18 through vinfastauto.ph and VinFast dealerships nationwide. Customers may secure a unit with a non-refundable booking fee of P3,000 and receive incentives valued at P5,600 during the booking period. First deliveries are expected to start in July.
The launch comes less than a month after VinFast opened bookings for the same lineup in Indonesia, placing the Philippines among its key regional markets for electric two-wheelers.
VinFast is offering two ownership options. Buyers may choose a battery subscription plan with access to battery swapping, or purchase the motorcycle with one or two batteries included.
The Evo is priced at P70,000 with battery subscription, P82,700 with one battery and P95,400 with two batteries. The Feliz II starts at P72,400 with battery subscription, P85,100 with one battery and P97,800 with two batteries. The Viper is priced at P81,900 with battery subscription, P94,600 with one battery and P107,300 with two batteries.
Battery subscription costs P439 per battery per month, while battery swapping is priced at P35 per battery per swap. Users may also charge the batteries at home.
Each model has two battery compartments under the seat and can use up to two 1.5 kWh LFP batteries. With two fully charged batteries, VinFast says the motorcycles can travel up to 150 kilometers under standard conditions.
All three models use a 5,200W BLDC in-wheel motor. The Viper and Feliz II have a claimed top speed of up to 90 kilometers per hour, while the Evo reaches up to 80 kilometers per hour.
The Viper is aimed at younger riders seeking sportier styling and added technology. It comes with a Smart Key system with remote vehicle tracking and locating functions, a TFT display, projector headlights and dual rear shock absorbers with external reservoirs.
The Evo and Feliz II are positioned for everyday urban use, with the company citing agile performance, lower operating costs and range suited for daily commuting.
VinFast said the motorcycles use a high-strength steel frame that meets Japanese standards. The motor and controller system are rated IP67 for water and dust resistance, while the battery meets the European ECE-R136 safety standard and is covered by a warranty of up to six years or 72,000 kilometers.
The company is working with charging infrastructure developer V-Green to roll out battery-swapping stations in the Philippines.
Vo Thi Cam Tu, managing director of VinFast E-motorcycles Overseas Market, said the Philippines is one of VinFast’s key markets for its international electric two-wheeler expansion. She said the company will continue investing in products, infrastructure and services to support the shift to electric mobility.
VinFast lists the Philippines among five key international markets for its electric two-wheeler expansion this year, together with Indonesia, India, Thailand and Malaysia.

Stress Less, Ride More
Six Ways Motorcycles Can Offer Escape, Stress Relief, and Everyday Enjoyment
For many Filipinos, motorcycles have long been valued as practical tools for daily travel. But beyond commuting, the Motorcycle Development Program Participants Association (MDPPA) highlights how motorcycles can also provide a sense of freedom, stress relief, and meaningful everyday experiences, offering riders an accessible way to break away from routine and enjoy the open road.

Here are six ways you can make every ride an opportunity for rest and enjoyment beyond routine:
An Accessible Escape on a Short Ride
When you ride a motorcycle, even a short trip can become an easy form of escape. A quick ride to Antipolo via Sumulong Highway or a calm morning ride around Laguna Lake, for instance, can give you breathing room without the need for long vacations or expensive planning. These accessible ways of escape can help relieve stress and restore focus, proving that freedom on two wheels can still fit into everyday life and even become part of your weekend lifestyle.
Fresh Perspective on Familiar Places
Motorcycles can change how you experience places close to home. For example, roads you normally pass through can feel more engaging and intentional, offering a sense of discovery without the need to go far or spend money. Riding a motorcycle encourages you to be present and appreciate the journey itself, and this shift in perspective can turn ordinary destinations into meaningful experiences.
Slow Down and Reconnect with Nature Through Moto-Camping
Moto-camping allows you to combine riding with time in nature. With proper preparation, you can head to spots like Tanay in Rizal, Real in Quezon, or Lake Mapanuepe in Zambales for an overnight stay. These trips teach you to pack smart, plan routes, and ride within your limits. But more importantly, they give you quiet moments and shared experiences that strengthen your connections not just with friends or family, but also with nature.
Leisure Rides Made Affordable
Motorcycles are especially appealing because they keep leisure within reach with their lower fuel costs and access to flexible routes, making weekend rides realistic for many Filipinos. This practicality reinforces the idea that enjoyment does not need to be extravagant to be worthwhile and memorable. With mindful planning, motorcycles can become tools for sustainable leisure that fits real budgets and schedules.
Shared Experiences Through Group Rides
Riding with others adds another layer of enjoyment to motorcycle riding. Group rides encourage discipline, communication, and mutual respect on the road. Whether riding with close friends or a local club, you learn how to balance fun with safety. With this, even the most mundane stops at roadside eateries, rest breaks, and shared stories become part of the journey. These moments reflect the #TropangMAALAM mindset, where riders look out for one another and promote responsible behavior especially on the road.
Make Safety Checks a Habit
Leisure riding naturally promotes a more mindful approach to mobility. You check your motorcycle, plan your route, and adjust to road and weather conditions. Over time, this mindset improves safety and confidence on the road. Riding for enjoyment reminds you that freedom and responsibility go hand in hand.
“Motorcycles can inspire a lifestyle that values freedom and connection. They offer riders a chance to clear their minds, strengthen relationships, and discover new places, all while reinforcing the discipline of safe riding. By embracing both enjoyment and responsibility, riders can show that motorcycles are more than modes of transport but are also accessible companions for meaningful escape and shared experiences that enrich life on and off the road.” said Raymund Cristobal, Chairman of the Road Safety Committee of MDPPA.
