Suzuki Ertiga GLX Hybrid Sport arrives at P1.199 million

Suzuki Philippines has given its seven-seat Ertiga a sharper appearance with the introduction of the GLX Hybrid Sport variant.

Priced at P1.199 million, the new version adds a selection of Suzuki Sport exterior accessories to the top-spec Ertiga GLX Hybrid. The changes are cosmetic, with the existing engine, mild-hybrid system and cabin equipment carried over.

The package includes front, side and rear under spoilers, along with a rear upper spoiler and Suzuki Sport emblem. These additions give the MPV a more athletic profile without affecting the space and practical features that families expect from the Ertiga.

Buyers can choose between Magma Gray Metallic and Snow White Pearl.

Power comes from Suzuki’s 1.5-liter K15B gasoline engine, which produces 105 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque. It is paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and Suzuki’s 12-volt Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki system.

The SHVS setup uses an integrated starter generator and a compact lithium-ion battery. Energy recovered during deceleration is stored and later used to assist the engine when the vehicle moves from a stop or accelerates. This reduces the load on the gasoline engine and helps lower fuel consumption.

Inside, the Ertiga GLX Hybrid Sport retains its three-row layout for seven occupants. Standard equipment includes keyless engine start and stop, cruise control, automatic climate control and ventilated cup holders.

A 10.1-inch touchscreen audio system handles entertainment and connectivity. The flexible seating layout also allows the MPV to carry luggage and other gear for family outings.

Safety equipment includes dual SRS airbags, an anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution and electronic stability control. The vehicle also uses Suzuki’s Total Effective Control Technology body construction, which is designed to help absorb and disperse impact energy.

The Ertiga GLX Hybrid Sport gives buyers a more distinctive version of Suzuki’s family MPV while retaining its familiar seven-seat cabin and fuel-saving mild-hybrid system.
