ACMobility Leads EV Charging Network

ACMobility accounted for 45 percent of the Philippines’ fixed public electric vehicle charging locations in the first half of 2026 as the company continued to build its nationwide charging network.

Department of Energy data cited by ACMobility showed the company operated 222 EV charging hubs out of 492 fixed open-access public charging locations nationwide as of end-June. Its 542 charge points represented 43.5 percent of the country’s 1,246 total charge points.

The figures exclude battery-swapping stations.

Carla Buencamino, head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility, said the company wants charging facilities to be available in places where motorists live, work and travel.

“Through the Philippine EV Spine, we are committed to connecting the archipelago with charging hubs that will enable Filipinos to charge anywhere, drive everywhere with EVs,” Buencamino said.

ACMobility said it accelerated charger construction this year as demand for EVs increased amid volatility in oil supply.

The company is using its dealership network and partnerships with fuel stations, malls, residential and office developments, restaurants and other establishments to secure charging locations.

One of its larger Metro Manila sites is at UP Town Center in Quezon City. The facility has 10 charge points composed of six AC chargers and four DC chargers, according to the photo and caption on the first page of the release.

The charging network accommodates private EVs and public transport fleets across different vehicle brands. Locations offer AC charging and DC fast charging.

Drivers can access the stations through the Evro app, which lets users locate available chargers, monitor charging sessions and make payments through GCash or credit card.

Earlier this year, ACMobility, BYD and the Department of Tourism conducted the “Drive Electric, Love Pinas” journey from Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, to General Santos City.

The 3,500-kilometer trip covered 102 cities and towns over 22 days and resulted in two Guinness World Records, including records for the most cities visited during continuous journeys by a battery-electric vehicle and a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.

Buencamino said opening ACMobility chargers to different vehicle brands allows the company to make greater use of its infrastructure as the Philippine EV population grows.

“We hope to encourage more Filipinos to embrace electric mobility so they could enjoy a more cost-effective and sustainable transport option,” she said.
