BYD Powers Up with Superman for Heroic Movie Tie-In

BYD Cars Philippines has partnered with Warner Bros. Philippines as the official mobility partner for the latest Superman movie, unveiled during the Superman World Tour’s Manila leg on June 19, 2025, at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.

The event marked the Philippine preview of the BYD Sealion 5 DM-i, a subcompact SUV featuring Superman-themed decals. The vehicle was introduced to fans and guests ahead of its local launch.

Seven other BYD electric vehicles, including the Tang SUV, eMAX 7 MPV, and the Seal sedan, were used to shuttle the movie’s cast, director, and crew during their visit to the country.

“This is a celebration of two game changers—Superman and the BYD Sealion 5 DM-i,” said BYD Cars Philippines Managing Director Bob Palanca, who emphasized the alignment of BYD’s Super DM-i technology with the themes of performance and hope.

Adam Hu, BYD Philippines’ Country Head, added: “At BYD, strength means using innovation to protect and inspire. Just like Superman, we push boundaries to build a greener future.”

The partnership also includes public events, starting with a Superman-themed BYD Sealion 5 DM-i showcase at SM North EDSA The Block from July 3 to 9. The exhibit will coincide with the BYD Tech Tour from July 4 to 6.
