Geely Launches All-Electric EX5 and Hybrid Okavango Elite in the Philippines

Geely Motor Philippines is stepping on the gas—or in this case, the charge—with the official launch of two new energy vehicles: the all-electric EX5 SUV and the hybrid Okavango Elite. The twin launch marks a major milestone for the company since it transitioned into a direct subsidiary model earlier this year.

The two models highlight Geely’s commitment to offering a complete lineup of powertrain options—ranging from battery electric and plug-in hybrids to mild hybrids and internal combustion engine vehicles—by the end of 2025. The move is part of a broader push for smarter, more adaptable mobility solutions in the country.

To support this initiative, Geely has stocked over USD 5 million worth of parts in its own warehouse, and announced improved after-sales support and new dealer programs aimed at strengthening ownership experience and service delivery.

Geely EX5: The Brand’s First All-Electric SUV in PH

Priced at PHP 1,799,000, the EX5 brings Geely into the local EV market with a tech-packed electric SUV that promises comfort, safety, and intelligent features. Its short blade battery can fast-charge from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes, thanks to an optimized 11-in-1 electric drive system.

Backed by dual 5-star crash ratings from Euro NCAP and ANCAP, the EX5 also comes with advanced driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control and 360° panoramic parking. Inside, it features a spacious cabin with massage seats, a 15.4-inch touchscreen, a heads-up display, voice command in 10 languages, and a transparent chassis view for safer maneuvering.

Design highlights include flush-mounted door handles, a panoramic sunroof, and antibacterial materials—plus, it qualifies for a green EV plate under local incentives.

Okavango Elite: A Hybrid SUV for Family Versatility

Targeted at larger households, the PHP 1,368,000 Okavango Elite is a 7-seater SUV designed for maximum space and flexibility. It’s the only hybrid in its class with seven individual seats and five configurable layouts, providing a cargo capacity of up to 2,050 liters—enough for 20 large suitcases.

Upgrades include new exterior styling, enhanced interior materials, a 360° camera, and reinforced structural safety. Its hybrid powertrain balances fuel economy with performance, and like the EX5, it also qualifies for EV-related perks like number coding exemptions.

Geely Celebrates Six Years in the PH Market

Alongside the launch, Geely kicked off its 6th anniversary in the Philippines by introducing limited-time promotions for the EX5 and Okavango Elite. Existing customers will also benefit from new support programs for older models and a customer referral initiative.

Geely also unveiled dealer incentives for Coolray and Emgrand units to boost showroom activity and improve overall consumer value. The company says these initiatives reflect a deeper understanding of how Filipinos use their vehicles daily.

“These cars aren’t just feature-rich,” said Sylva Yu, CEO of Geely Motor Philippines. “They’re built with insight into how Filipinos actually move—whether it’s the quiet torque of the EX5 or the adaptability of the Okavango Elite.”

DENZA brings hybrid off-road SUVs into PH market with B5 and B8 launch

DENZA Philippines has expanded its local lineup with the launch of the B5 and B8 electrified SUVs, following the brand’s appearance at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show.

Introduced under the “Adventure Electrified” campaign, the two sport utility vehicles target buyers looking for electrified powertrains combined with off-road capability and premium cabin features.

According to Adam Hu, the launch allows the brand to reach more SUV buyers in the Philippines, particularly those looking for new energy vehicles with both utility and lifestyle appeal.

The DENZA B5 enters the market as a midsize plug-in hybrid SUV that uses the brand’s DMO Super Hybrid system. It combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with a dual-motor setup that produces 425 kW and 760 Nm of torque.

The vehicle carries a 31.8-kWh BYD Blade battery and an 83-liter fuel tank, allowing a claimed combined NEDC driving range of up to 975 kilometers. DENZA said the B5 also comes with four-wheel drive and electronically controlled front and rear locking differentials for changing road and terrain conditions.

The B5 includes a large infotainment display, digital instrument cluster, head-up display, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and a 360-degree camera system. The SUV also gets massage and ventilated seats along with driver assistance systems.

The larger B8 arrives as a full-size SUV offered in Dynamic and Premium variants. It combines a 2.0-liter engine with a dual-motor setup that delivers 450 kW and 760 Nm of torque. DENZA said the SUV can accelerate from zero to 100 kph in 4.8 seconds.

The B8 uses a 36.9-kWh battery and a 91.5-liter fuel tank, giving it a claimed combined range of up to 1,040 kilometers under NEDC standards.

DENZA equipped the B8 with its DiSus-P Intelligent Damping Suspension system and electronically controlled locking differentials. The setup adjusts suspension damping based on road conditions and wheel movement to improve ride stability and traction on uneven surfaces.

Both SUVs include terrain response modes for mud, sand, rock, and water wading conditions. They also feature Leopard Turn technology designed to improve maneuverability in tight spaces and off-road trails.

The vehicles connect to the DENZA mobile app, which allows owners to monitor vehicle status, charging levels, fuel levels, and location remotely.

DENZA Philippines will hold the DENZA Arena customer test drive event from April 24 to 26, where potential buyers can test the vehicles on steep inclines, water wading sections, side slopes, and uneven terrain.

The B5 carries a launch price of P3.498 million, while the B8 is priced at P4.698 million for the Dynamic variant and P5.098 million for the Premium variant.
