Lynk & Co 02 earns top Euro NCAP safety rating

The Lynk & Co 02 has been rated the safest compact SUV tested so far in 2025, according to the latest results from the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP). The electric SUV earned a full 5-star rating and posted some of the highest scores seen under the organization’s current testing protocols.

Particularly notable was its 89% score in the Safety Assist category—an area that measures how well a vehicle’s advanced safety tech performs. The Lynk & Co 02’s suite of features, including automatic emergency braking, speed limit detection, lane keeping assist, and driver monitoring systems, all delivered strong results.

“It’s not just a win for us—it’s a signal to the rest of the segment,” said David Green, Vice President for Product & Strategy at Lynk & Co. “Safety is, and always will be, central to our approach.”

The 02 also scored 90% for adult occupant protection, 87% for child passengers, and 83% for vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists. Crash test dummies used in simulations showed solid protection for critical areas like the chest, knees, and head.

The Lynk & Co 02 joins the 01 in the Philippine market under the United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI) banner. The 01 also previously earned high Euro NCAP marks.

Beyond safety, the 02 delivers respectable performance. Its electric motor produces 272 PS and 343 Nm of torque, allowing a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 5.5 seconds. It has a range of 435 km on a full charge (WLTP) and can fast-charge from 10% to 80% in roughly 30 minutes.

The 02’s combination of performance, range, and advanced safety tech positions it as one of the most compelling EVs currently on the market.
