Myanmar President Tours VinFast Plant

Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing visited VinFast’s manufacturing complex in Hai Phong on September 4 during an official trip to Vietnam.

VinFast Chairman Pham Nhat Quan Anh welcomed the Myanmar delegation and accompanied its members through the body and general assembly shops.

The tour covered the plant’s integrated manufacturing process, automated production lines and electric vehicle range. The delegation also observed the final stages of vehicle assembly at the complex.

Min Aung Hlaing praised the quality of VinFast’s electric vehicles, as well as the infrastructure and equipment at the Hai Phong facility, according to the automaker.

The visit came as Vietnam and Myanmar seek closer cooperation in trade and industry. VinFast said the tour also opened opportunities for further ties in electric transport and related technology.

VinFast has expanded outside Vietnam through markets that include Indonesia, India, the Philippines and North America. The company said it had led Vietnam’s automotive market for 24 consecutive months as of September 2026.

The Hai Phong complex serves as the automaker’s main production base in Vietnam. VinFast is also building its international manufacturing network as it enters more markets and develops an electric mobility ecosystem.

The facility has previously received foreign leaders during official visits to Vietnam. Among them were former Indonesian president Joko Widodo, former Bulgarian president Rumen Radev and former Luxembourg prime minister Xavier Bettel.

Their visits included tours of VinFast’s production lines and presentations on the company’s electric vehicles and manufacturing capabilities.

VinFast is continuing to invest in vehicle production, technology and supporting services as it seeks to reach more customers outside its home market.
