VinFast Evo Targets Young Filipino Riders With 150-Km Electric Scooter

VinFast is positioning the Evo electric scooter as an alternative to conventional 110cc to 125cc gasoline-powered models for Filipino students and young professionals, combining a starting price of P62,900 with a claimed riding distance of up to 150 kilometers.

The Evo is among VinFast E-Motorcycle’s first models for the Philippine market as the Vietnamese manufacturer expands its two-wheel electric vehicle business in the country.

Automatic scooters remain a major part of the local motorcycle market, with VinFast citing sales of 655,004 units. The company sees younger riders as a key audience because many use scooters for school, work and daily errands.

The Evo starts at P62,900. Buyers may purchase its batteries or subscribe to them, with battery subscriptions starting at P439 per month for each battery. VinFast is also offering the first year of the subscription free under its current promotion.

VinFast said the electric scooter can deliver a lower total cost of ownership over five years compared with an equivalent gasoline motorcycle, although the material did not provide a detailed cost comparison.

The Evo uses two batteries and can travel up to 150 km on a full charge. Its top speed is 80 km/h, putting its performance within the territory of small-displacement scooters commonly used for daily commuting.

Battery subscribers can exchange a depleted unit for a charged one at V-Green battery-swapping stations, with VinFast saying a swap can take about a minute.

Home charging is another option. One battery requires about 4.5 hours for a full charge, while charging two takes about nine hours. Riders can also check motorcycle and battery information through the VinFast E-Scooter app and use it to locate nearby V-Green swapping stations or VinFast outlets.

Styling follows the rounded proportions associated with classic European scooters, matched with a circular headlamp and compact bodywork.

Four colors are offered: Olive Drab Light, Red Candy Tone, White Cyan Metallic and Black Solid. A 4.8-inch color digital display provides essential riding information.

The Evo joins VinFast’s growing electric motorcycle operation in the Philippines as the company builds its sales and battery-swapping network.

Its combination of scooter-sized proportions, battery subscription options and a claimed 150-km riding distance gives VinFast a direct entry into a segment long dominated by gasoline-powered commuter motorcycles.
