Toyota Philippines Chosen to Train Body Repair Instructors Across Asia

Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) has begun training body repair instructors from other Asian markets after Toyota Motor Asia selected the company to conduct a regional after-sales program.

Four instructors from Indonesia, Laos, Thailand and Pakistan attended the first course from September 7 to 18 at TMP’s head office and manufacturing plant in Santa Rosa City, Laguna. Filipino instructors led classroom lessons and practical exercises in body repair.

The course is part of Toyota’s Body, Paint and Estimation Regional Training program, which is intended to develop consistent after-sales skills across its Asian affiliates. Toyota Motor Asia chose TMP following an assessment of its instructors, facilities and equipment.

TMP is scheduled to conduct three courses in the program’s first year. The current arrangement runs until 2029 and covers training for instructors from Toyota affiliates across Asia.

TMP’s body, paint and estimation team received Toyota Motor Asia certifications this year for Paint Instructor Course Step 1 and Estimation Instructor Course Step 1. Further training toward Toyota, Masters and Professional certifications is lined up through 2027.

The assignment follows a six-medal showing by TMP’s Filipino line team at the Toyota 2026 Asia Pacific Skills Contest in August.
