Greenstrum, Huawei showcase battery storage and EV charging solutions for businesses

ACMobility subsidiary Greenstrum and Huawei Technologies Philippines have introduced battery storage and electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions to businesses seeking to manage electricity costs and prepare their properties for electric mobility.

The companies held their first joint business-to-business showcase, called “The New Energy Advantage,” at Huawei’s Bonifacio Global City facility. More than 20 participants from five enterprises, including property developers and academic institutions, attended.

A key feature was Huawei’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), which stores electricity during low-demand periods and releases it when demand increases.

Combined with EV chargers installed by Greenstrum, the system can help operators manage peak demand and make better use of existing electrical infrastructure.

Greenstrum chief operating officer Carl Decleodt said the partnership covers system design and installation rather than hardware alone.

“We don’t come in just to provide hardware. What we do is we come in and provide a solution,” he said.

Decleodt added that BESS could deliver savings while occupying a footprint of just two square meters.

Daniel Garcia, an electrical engineer at DMCI Homes, said battery storage could help address electricity demand as the developer incorporates EV charging facilities into its condominiums.

Liezl Mico, purchasing officer at Daiichi Properties, described BESS as an investment that could generate greater savings with continued use.

The partnership also seeks to serve hospitality operators, utilities and logistics companies with cold storage or fleet charging requirements.

Greenstrum, which supplies, installs and maintains AC and DC chargers, plans additional showcases with Huawei to introduce the technology to more prospective enterprise partners.
