QC, MMDA, Ready for SONA 2025
TTMD and MMDA on Full Alert for SONA 2025 Traffic and Emergency Operations
QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Government agencies are going all-out to secure roads and manage mobility ahead of President Bongbong Marcos’ 4th State of the Nation Address (SONA) today, July 28, 2025.
On July 28, the Quezon City Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD) held an early pre-deployment briefing, led by TTMD Chief Dexter C. Cardenas. The focus is to ensure a safe, disciplined, and orderly traffic flow around the Batasan Complex and nearby roads.
Over 100 TTMD enforcers have been assigned to key areas to assist motorists, enforce traffic rules, and coordinate with other agencies to help secure the SONA venue.
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is deploying a massive force of 1,329 personnel drawn from various units. Their tasks include managing both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, responding to emergencies, assisting with crowd control, and ensuring roads remain clear during the event.
Supporting the manpower are critical response assets already staged along major routes and strategic points. These include ambulances, fire trucks, tow trucks, mobile patrol vehicles, motorcycle units, and flood response equipment.
Rain or shine, TTMD and MMDA teams are on full alert, ready to serve and protect all QCitizens, motorists, and attendees of SONA 2025.
The Swift Traffic Action Group (STAG) conducted clearing operations across several areas in Quezon City on Monday, targeting vehicles illegally parked along key roads.
The team patrolled the streets of Cambridge, Yale, Colombia, New York, and Oxford in Barangay E. Rodriguez, as well as parts of Barangay New Crame Society and 1st to 4th Avenue.
During the operation, STAG personnel recorded 18 and 16 violations using their body-worn cameras, while two vehicle owners were issued tickets on the spot. The activity aims to maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure compliance with city parking regulations.
