Sonet Owners Celebrate Milestone with Grand Meet in Nuvali

Kia Philippines and the Kia Sonet Pilipinas Club held their biggest grand meet to date on June 26, 2025, drawing over 60 units of the popular subcompact SUV for a day-long event at Nuvali in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The convoy kicked off from Alabang, highlighting the growing community around the Sonet.

The event marked the first anniversary of the Kia Sonet’s Philippine launch and underscored its fast-rising popularity. Kia Philippines Managing Director Jay Lopez revealed that the Sonet now accounts for nearly one out of every four entry-level B-segment SUVs sold locally.

Lopez credited the model’s success to its blend of design, practicality, and loyal following. “The Sonet’s success isn’t just about features, it’s about the people who drive it,” he said.

At the center of the celebration was the Sonet Pilipinas Club, whose members connect through road trips, vehicle tips, and car modifications. Club president Julienne Bonacua described her vehicle, “Pogi,” as reliable and stylish enough for long drives and photo shoots. Meanwhile, member Darrenz Genel shared how his manual Sonet played a part in his wedding.

More than a meet-up, the event emphasized the car’s role in creating friendships. “It’s not just about selling cars,” Lopez added. “It’s about creating a sense of belonging.”

The Sonet has also earned industry recognition, winning “Underrated Car of the Year” from Top Gear Philippines and “Best First Car” from AutoIndustriya. It’s the first in its class to offer Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
