Toyota tips off B.LEAGUE Manila

Toyota Motor Philippines is backing the B.LEAGUE Manila Games 2026, a two-game preseason series that brings Japanese professional basketball to Filipino fans.

Levanga Hokkaido and Gunma Crane Thunders are playing at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on September 9 and 10, with both games scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

The series marks the first time B.LEAGUE games are hosted outside Japan. It also gives local supporters a chance to watch Filipino players Dwight Ramos and AJ Edu compete in front of a home crowd.

Ramos suits up for Levanga Hokkaido, while Edu plays for Gunma. Their appearance adds a strong local connection to the matchup between the two Japanese clubs.

“Basketball has a special way of bringing people together, and we are proud to support an event that allows Filipino fans to experience B.LEAGUE basketball here in Manila,” said Elijah Marical, first vice president for vehicle sales operations at Toyota Motor Philippines.

“This series is more than two games. It is a celebration of the passion that Japan and the Philippines share for the sport, the friendship between our two countries, and the memorable experiences that basketball can create for fans and families.”

The Manila series coincides with the B.LEAGUE’s 10th anniversary. It also comes during the 70th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Philippines.

Toyota said its support for the games reflects the popularity of basketball in both countries and the sport’s role in connecting their communities.

Away from the court, spectators can visit the Toyota Challenge Zone at the arena. The interactive area features basketball-themed activities where participants can test their skills and win prizes.

The second game of the series takes place on September 10 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
