Toyota Turns Car Sounds Musical

Twin brothers Paolo Benjamin and Miguel Benjamin of Filipino indie folk-pop band Ben&Ben have joined Toyota Motor Asia’s Move Your World Beat campaign, bringing Filipino music to a regional lineup of Asian artists.

Developed with creative partner VIRTUE Asia, the initiative challenges musicians to turn sounds produced by Toyota vehicles into original tracks. These may include subtle clicks, ambient hums and other engineered tones heard inside a car.

Paolo and Miguel represent the Philippines in a group that includes Belle Sisoski of Malaysia, Natasha Noorani of Pakistan, Shye of Singapore, Valentina Ploy of Thailand and Vietnamese artist 2pillz.

Each musician will reinterpret the vehicle sounds through a distinct musical style as part of a TikTok-led creator program. Their individual works will later be combined into a regional collective beat scheduled for release before the end of the year.

Toyota Motor Asia said the campaign uses music to connect artists and audiences from different cultures while giving creators a platform for contemporary expression.

“At its heart, Move Your World is about Toyota’s commitment to the communities in Asia, the freedom to move, and the thrill and joy of moving forward together,” Toyota Motor Asia general manager Jaja Ishibashi said.

“With Move Your World Beat, we bring that same spirit to music, a universal language that unites our communities and moves us all a little closer,” Ishibashi added.

The campaign presents ordinary vehicle sounds as raw musical material. Each resulting composition will reflect the artist’s identity while contributing to a collaborative work drawn from six Asian countries.

Toyota plans to continue Move Your World Beat after this year’s rollout. Content produced by the participating artists may be used in future collaborations centered on regional culture and creative exchange.

The project gives Paolo and Miguel another platform to carry Filipino music to listeners across Asia while placing Ben&Ben alongside performers working in different genres and traditions.
